The Thorpe Mill Evacuation Sheet is a life-saving essential for hospitals, care homes, and domestic care settings. Designed to sit permanently and discreetly underneath a standard single mattress, it allows carers to instantly transform a bed into an evacuation sledge during an emergency—without ever having to move the patient from their bed.
In the event of a fire or gas leak, simply secure the safety straps, and the mattress becomes a "canoe-like" sled that can be glided across floors and down stairs to safety.
"Always Ready" Design: Attaches permanently to the underside of the mattress with heavy-duty elastic loops, ensuring it is never misplaced when seconds count.
Low-Friction Base: Constructed from a specialized, tough, and slippery-coated fabric that glides effortlessly over carpet, vinyl, and concrete.
Patient Security: Features high-strength webbing straps with quick-release buckles to "cocoon" the patient and an elongated foot pocket to prevent sliding during vertical evacuation (down stairs).
Narrow Passage Navigation: The flexible nature of the sheet allows the mattress to be curved, enabling it to pass through narrow doorways and around tight staircase corners.
